These dramatic flowers have deep burgundy leaves topped by a striking red flower spike that gets larger with age. They are ideal 'back of the border' plants reaching 120 - 150cm tall. They may need staking if strong winds or heavy rain is expected. They make excellent cut flowers and can be used fresh or dried

Sowing Instructions:
Sow in seed trays in early spring (Aug) - do not cover seed. Transplant into beds when seedlings are 10 - 12cm tall
Space 20cm apart
Succession sowing can be done directly in the bed when soil temps are warmer. sow every 4 weeks up to March
Growing tip: Pinch out the growing tip when the plants are about 20cm tall to promote branching
